Common issues and fixes — MCP, icons, Gmail, dashboard speed.
"Failed to connect to Claude" in Cowork
- Make sure Marje is running in the background (check the Windows system tray for the Marje icon).
- Re-copy the MCP URL from Settings → Integrations → Claude → Copy MCP connection URL. Paste freshly in Cowork.
- Firewall: Windows Defender sometimes blocks localhost MCP traffic. Allow Marje when prompted.
"Icon extraction failed" or icons show a blank square
- Click the icon tile — it re-extracts silently next launch.
- If persistent: Settings → Apps → Refresh all icons.
Dashboard feels slow
- First launch with many pinned apps: icons extract one at a time in the background — give it 5–10 seconds.
- Second launch: cached, should be instant.
- If still slow: Settings → Advanced → Clear icon cache.
"Module signature verification failed"
The module failed integrity check — this is a safety feature. Retry install. If it fails twice, email support@marje.ai with the module name.
Gmail tile shows "Error" instead of a count
- Token expired. Settings → Integrations → Gmail → [account] → Re-authenticate.
- Google imposes rate limits during heavy use — wait 10 minutes and it should recover.
Feed tile shows "Failed to fetch"
- The feed URL returned an error or timed out (20s max). Double-check the URL works in a browser.
- Some sites block non-browser user agents. Try a different feed source.
